What we offer

The ACE Approach is a unique, curriculum-linked program offered to private and public schools in Toronto and the GTA. We provide services for students, teachers and families. Through Mindfulness and Awareness practices, we help support student Mental Health and Social and Emotional Learning. 

SCHOOLS

Our school program can be tailored to meet the unique needs of your learning community and is offered in a variety of ways: 

• in-class programming (JK-12)

• after-school programming

• special event presentations (assemblies, full/half day themed events)

• 1:1 student coaching

Your school will benefit from The ACE Approach, as students will learn reliable techniques and strategies proven to improve SEL and Mental Health. Students will learn how to generalize the skills taught during the program and transfer them into the classroom and during social interactions.

 

Through experiential activities, social situation training and emotional regulation we aim to teach, model and reinforce appropriate interaction skills while fostering friendships within the group.

 

Student will:

  • practice positive relationship-building 

  • increase self-confidence and self-esteem

  • practice strategies to reduce social and academic anxiety

  • develop greater concentration, attention, comprehension and memory

  • practice problem solving and resourcefulness

  • learn organization and planning skill

  • enhance their emotional literacy

  • begin to express feelings responsibly and respectfully

  • develop compassion & empathy

  • become less impulsive/more responsive

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Creating Conscious and Compassionate Classrooms!

Our professional development workshops offer evidence-based strategies and techniques proven to cultivate social and emotional learning skills with a focus on the wellness and mental health of students and teachers. 

This experiential and self-reflective workshop teaches practical mindfulness strategies to strengthen teaching skills in these key areas:

  

  • creating meaningful and deep connections built upon mutual trust and respect

  • honouring empathetic, equal and inclusive learning spaces 

  • building emotional literacy and self-reflection 

  • supporting self-awareness and self-regulation 

  • remaining present and authentic as an educator

Educators will learn innovative strategies to share with students to improve concentration, deal with strong emotions and practice reliable relaxation techniques proven to reduce social and academic anxiety/stress. We offer effective ways to overcome challenging situations (social problem-solving), cope with strong emotions (anger, sadness, anxiety), and nurture positive relationships with self and others. Students have found that learning these essential life skills has helped them to feel greater confidence, acceptance and understanding of themselves and others.

FAMILIES

We recognize family as the primary site of learning. Our parenting/relational family program works with families to cultivate awareness of self and others, develop emotional literacy, build relationship skills and practice effective conflict resolution strategies to harmonize  households.

 

Through awareness techniques, guided family discussion circles, co-operative games, expressive arts activities and our innovative ACE Approach conflict resolution strategy, families build trusting and connected relationships with open communication.

Parenting Workshops: 

Our experiential and self-reflective parenting workshops offer practical mindfulness strategies to strengthen your skills in these areas:

  • collaborative and peaceful conflict resolution 

  • effective communication 

  • self-awareness and personal triggers

  • emotional literacy and self-regulation 

  • moving beyond triggers, threats and bribes

 

1:1 student coaching:

We also offer in-home service for children who need a little extra coaching when it comes to emotional regulation, impulse control and social problem solving.
